Dear Friend,
Let’s face it, fishing is amazing!
Fishing can help bring families closer together (like it did ours)...
Fishing can help you create memories with your friends and loved ones that you'll never forget...
And fishing can even change lives...
But you know what?
Fishing can also be pretty darn expensive (and frustrating)...
Let me explain.
Here's just a few things that we anglers spend our hard-earned money on every time we go fishing:
It starts with the cost of your fishing license...
Then you've got the cost of your rods...
The cost of your reels...
The cost of your lines (braid, mono, and fluoro)...
The cost of your terminal tackle... weights, hooks, and rigs...
The cost of your endless array of lures...
The cost of your pliers, fish grip, braid cutters, gloves, and all of your other needed accessories...
The cost of your tackle box or tackle bag to hold it all...
The cost of your cast net if you're a live bait angler...
Then the cost of your performance fishing gear...
Your performance fishing shirts...
Your performance fishing shorts and pants...
Your neck buff...
Your favorite fishing hat...
Your wading boots...
And let's not forget the cost of your boat...
That also means the cost of a fish finder...
Plus the cost of a PowerPole (or two...)
Plus the cost of trim tabs...
Plus the never ending assortment of cool boat accessories that seem to find their way on your boat or skiff...
Plus the cost of your never-ending boat maintenance...
The cost of boat insurance...
The cost to store your boat...
The cost to keep your trailer tires and hubs from busting out on the highway...
The cost of gas...
The cost your expensive cooler (or coolers) to go in your boat...
Heck, even good fishing kayaks these days are $2,000+ after you load them down...
Then you've got to have a dolly...
And a nice paddle...
And you can't forget about buying a life jacket or three...
Then you've got the cost of your time of loading up your vehicle with all of your gear...
The cost of your time hooking up your trailer or strapping down your kayak...
The cost of your time heading to the ramp...
The cost of your time waiting on "Jimmy The Ramp Hog" to finally stop blocking two launch lanes so you can launch your boat...
The cost of your time catching bait...
The cost of your time trying to figure out where the feeding fish will be...
And that doesn't even include all of the time going around from spot to spot just trying to get a tight line all while avoiding slimy catfish...
So it begs repeating...
